The Ikot Oku Ikono flyover constructed by the Akwa Ibom State Government is to be inaugurated on July 16, 2021
Governor Udom Emmanuel made this known while presiding over the State Executive Council Meeting at Government House, Uyo, today.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Emem-Obong, who conveyed key decisions reached at the session to government house Correspondents, said the inauguration of Ikot Oku Ikono flyover would aim at consolidating on the infrastructure drive of the Udom administration as he inches towards the completion agenda.
The state Governor, during the session, also directed the immediate reinstatement of Mr Iniobong Ekpo, a student of the Akwa Ibom State University, AKSU who was expelled by the school's management on grounds of misconduct and rude behaviour.
Comrade Emem-Obong explained that the decision to recall Iniobong Ekpo was based on the fatherly disposition of Governor Emmanuel, who wishes to see him complete his academic programs, rather than waste the years.
The state executive session, Comrade Emem-Obong said, reviewed half year ministerial report of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies where the governor urged them to redouble effort towards meeting development target for the year.
Meanwhile, August 21, 2021 has been fixed as the Akwa Ibom State Coconut Day.
And to mark the day, Comrade Emem-Obong said three hundred thousand coconuts would be planted to boost the state's preparation for the coconut oil refinery that is commencing production soon.
